THE PREAH VIHEAR TIMES

With increasing regional integration in ASEAN, there has been a sharp increase in the need for independent, unbiased, and accurate information on human rights, conflicts, and regional sustainability. At the same time, ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, face a significant deficit of freedom of information, freedom of expression and meaningful, accurate and analytical debate. Freedom of information is a necessary prerequisite for a strong, healthy democratic society and the protection of human rights.

The Preah Vihear Times will fill the identified need of promoting meaningful honest dialogue on fundamental and often controversial issues that impact Cambodia and the region. This innovative new approach to regional media will provide a new, independent and informed voice for human rights, conflict prevention and freedom of information in Cambodia and the ASEAN Region. Published bi-weekly in English and Khmer, the Preah Vihear Times will provide a unique perspective and deep analyses of pressing national and regional issues, without censorship.
